The Girl You Left in My Arms
by yashika vahi
"She's not a survivor,
she's a warrior,
she hurts and hurts but doesn't let out a sound,
she begs and begs but no one understands,
she's got the sun shining inside her,
but the darkness around her dims her light,
she tries and tries but she's just so tired,
they all expect her to care
and yet when she wants to talk,
they don't listen,
they've cut her into so many pieces,
every time she tries to heal,
she just ends up breaking herself further."
The Girl You Left in my Arms is a poetry book that consists of short poems on heartbreak, pain, depression, sexual assault, self harm, love, healing and new beginnings..
